Me Fail English?

The Megabitch came over to de-tox her laundry. She's Matt-less; apparently he works this afternoon/evening.

I petered out at this tournament (I did not advance from prelims), but everyone else on the team did quite well, so I do not mind as much. A man who judged me at Stratford saw me and told me my oratory was the best-written piece he'd seen all year, which made me feel joyous. As a theologian, he found my presentation interesting. Ausgezeichnet.

I placed sixth in oratory prelims, but the judge wrote she liked my topic; it simply had too many problems and inconsistencies. So I don't even mind that, either. She laughed (in appropriate places). At least I elicited a reaction. Plus, I think her critique was accurate, and I can make the corrections confidently. She knew what she was talking (well, writing) about.

The eighth speaker in my oratory round probably placed first. He was quite insightful about a common topic (the media's perception of women), witty, and fluent. However, as a person I disliked him immediately, because from my observations he obviously was quite aware that he was insightful, witty, and fluent. That disappointed me. His speech was great, though. Oh, well.

Now I can work on polishing my oratory for TFA State. I want to bring home more than some certificate of participation. I might do something for Mr. Powell at UIL. I don't think either event takes place until March.
