Come And Get Your Happiness

Astroworld yesterday went well. Besides April, Beth, Lauren, and me, also attending were Swifty, Amy Gilliland, and Vincent Ascalon (a fellow to whom everyone else refers as "Omar"). They made a goodly group. I suppose the crowds were sparse because H.I.S.D. didn't break for summer until today. They didn't even open the river ride, for instance. We thus managed to ride what we wanted to in a fairly reasonable amount of time and with minimal contact between other humans.

I kept trying to win a huge Cookie Monster doll, but to no avail. I did receive a tiny, bright yellow plush dog. But me want cookie. I went in the Looney Toons store, purchasing a bright green Marvin the Martian cup and a black Sylvester t-shirt. For souvenirs I didn't get sticked too badly. I bought them primarily as comfort items.

My back hurt after I rode Batman The Escape; I found it difficult to draw deep breaths. I rode a few more rides, then I pretty much quit. This displeased me greatly, because I usually try to ride everything. The Tidal Wave made me feel a little better.

Today I devoted to Erika Patsy, who I chummed with in junior high. We ate at Saltgrass Steakhouse, then we splurged at WAL*MART (using eighty percent of the one hundred dollar gift certificate I "won" at Project Graduation). I bought (among other things) four tubes of lipstick, two lime green plates to match my Marvin the Martian cup, a palm tree cup, a battery-operated toothbrush, a three-way "disco" lamp, several gel pens, a day planner, and a stapler. Erika got herself a new label maker.

Tomorrow I shall finish packing everything. We leave on Sunday for St. Louis. Ausgezeichnet. Hopefully, on Saturday The Father can help me pick out a laptop. Then I suppose we need to discuss what to do about my current bank account and where I'll open a new one once I move. Tra la la, so much to do...
