at 9:28 PMThe Unholy Alliance
This evening Pam and Chris held a porksteak shindig. Guests included Grandpa, Uncle Nick and Aunt Laura, Josh, Aunt Barbara, Caleb and Natalie, and the hatchling Brittany Lynn. Krista and Debbie could not attend, as they were both working (which reminds me that I need to find a decent place of employment).
I played cards with Grandpa. He beat me.
Caleb brought his Iraq pictures. I found it particularly interesting to note he was stationed in Jordan (on the Iraqi border), although Jordan, of course, had nothing to do with the war/non-war. He also explained that Palestinians built their camp, and that Palestinians despise Americans (thus Caleb's group made certain to be extra-friendly and considerate).
Caleb spent at home eight months of the past four years. If he signs on again (I'm not entirely certain how this all works; I zoned out a bit as he related everything), he'll be sent to a Korean island for the duration of one year. He balks at doing this, because Natalie cannot come with him (he explained something about it being too near "strike" time). I'm not certain what he'll do next.
Everyone left, but I feel zippy because I drank many a can of caffeine-laden carbonated beverages. Maybe I should stop doing that.
