The Checkered Camel Company

I phoned The Father to remind him to send my raincoat (it chills during the day here now) and caught him on the couch watching "Alias" with his girlfriend. I ordered him to hand the phone over to the little lady, to which he responded with an incredulous,
"You really want to talk to her?"

I said, "Yeah- unless this new girlfriend you've been gushing over is really just a blow-up doll."
This new girlfriend he's been gushing over does, indeed, exist as a real person with real feelings, which makes her all the more curious to me. For those familiar with the K-hole, she teaches at Fielder Elementary.

I informed her I am the most important person in the family (I was pleased to discover she already knew this). Then I told her it's cute that The Father is dating a person and that I look forward to meeting her. I do. Watching them interact should prove most entertaining. The Father does not interact with people in non-business settings often.

Whelp, enough about them. Now it's "Lauree Time". Today at work I hobbled on my lame foot around the fitting room. A coworker named Trish drove me home this evening, because the thought of walking a mile on that foot made me nauseous.

Pat (the aforementioned assistant manager lady) nominated me for Part-Time Associate of the Quarter (although I had not been there the entire quarter). All employees and managers vote among three part-time and three full-time associates. Naturally, I voted for myself. For full-time Associate, I voted for a girl (well, she's actually twenty-seven) named Kari, who started working there a month before I. She drives me home once in a while. I prefer her to the high school girls, who behave like... high school girls. They're nice enough to me, but I'm a big kid now.
