I began writing about a novel I finished reading a few minutes ago, The Old Capital, which won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1968. According to the translation forward, its author committed suicide in 1972. "Melancholy" aptly describes the book, but it is not entirely pessimistic. Anyhow, I'll finish my analyzation at a later time, because I need to sleep at some point before I wake up tomorrow.at 12:48 AM
