Wolves of the Calla disappointed me. The story simply wasn't... good... and... stuff. The new characters weren't impressive. Also, reading about the connections between the Wolves and Marvel comics/ Harry Potter dissatisfied me, although it is a continuation of what Stephen King has been doing the entire series (relating portions to popular culture, as with including Hey Jude in both worlds). I suppose I dislike the nineties stuff he's started to integrate because I know it all already. I retched when he mentioned the Twin Towers at one point... I guess I'm just snotty. Wizard In Glass was much better. I don't remember the first two as well (I think I read them in junior high), but the third novel was good, too. Naturally, I do not know precisely what I wanted out of Wolves of the Calla; I just know I didn't get it.at 9:44 AM
I slept through most of yesterday. I do not recall ever having done that before. I feel miserable again today, but much improved over yesterday. I woke up around ten, ate a bowl of Shop 'n' Save Cocoa Comets (my aunt and uncle bought it especially for me), and read Wolves of the Calla until about one, when I fell asleep on the couch. I woke up at about four and migrated to The Lauree Lair, snoozing beneath my ultra-sexy Cat in the Hat comforter until about eight. Then I ate fish and white rice. I remained awake, finishing Wolves of the Calla at about two this morning.
I awoke at about ten and showered immediately (note the exclusion of a bath in my activities yesterday). Then I had tuna fish and a small bowl of ravioli (but not together); these tasted slightly minty because I had previously brushed my teeth.
Since my aunt and uncle are at work, and my cousin (Debbie) is at her boyfriend's apartment, in about half an hour I'll get up and exercise (shudder) in front of the television. I've always loathed doing that crap before an audience; I look goofy. If all goes well with the weather (id est, if it does not rain) I'll ride my bike, to which I finally reattached the front wheel the other day.
I also made a goal to practice writing kana.
