The Checkered Camel Company

The management at work short-staffed themselves yet again. Jarad asked me if I would stay until 9:00 this evening (I opened bakery at 6:45 this morning). I laughed at him.

The other day (Saturday) I came to work at 11:00 as a cashier. Before opening, though, I walked over to the bakery section to help out Mladen for a little while, just because. As I filled a basket with mints, Mladen told me how he entertained himself on Easter back in the old country. He used to half walnuts and put the ends on his grandma's cat's feet, so the cat would slip and slide all over the floor. Then he would take off his sock and stick it over the cat's head, rendering the cat blind (and probably unable to breathe well). Mladen found this most amusing. I smiled at him nervously, put the mint bag in the closet, and scuttled back to my cashier station.
