Uncle Nick took me out for a delightful shopping expedition and then a sandwich. Now I cannot sleep, so I suppose I shall clean out my closet. The shelf on which I used to hang my clothes is a metal wire rack that once was attached to the wall studs by means of screws. However, my use of imperfect tense in the preceding sentence is justified through my explanation that this shelf collapsed quite suddenly last week as I lay abed dozing. I piled boxes of books on top of it, which combined with the sum weight of my wardrobe stressed it enough that it simply decided to cease performing its function. Even my shelves conspire against me.at 7:28 PM
I called The Father this evening. He seems well. I confirmed he will not come to fetch me back to the K-hole until I am ready. Previously, he did not respond to my e-mails stating I would not want to return until the end of the summer. He had adamantly wanted to bring me to stay in his and Terri's house right after my school ends, and I attempted to convince him otherwise. Much as I loathe it, my position at Fuddruckers is a secure one, and I need to earn all the money I can so that I can afford to live when I get to wherever I am going this fall.
